Commencer par São Luís ou Fortaleza ?
🔄 SLZ → Barreirinhas → Atins → SLZ
Standard and recommended order. Start with the organized lagoon tours in Barreirinhas (full tourist infrastructure) and end relaxing in Atins (wild village, slow pace). Day-one logistics are simple: van from São Luís straight to Barreirinhas.

Start remote and end at the busier hub. Problem: reaching Atins on day one is more complex (São Luís→Barreirinhas→speedboat→Atins, ~6h with connection). Not recommended unless you arrive in São Luís early morning.
Meilleure période pour chaque tronçon
- 🌊 Lençóis Lagoons — Lagoons full from June to September — peak in July, best value in August. Lagoons start filling in May and dry out from October onward.
- ☀️ Best month — August. Full lagoons, reliable sunshine, fewer tourists than July (school holidays). Pleasant temperatures, ideal for dune hikes.
- 🌦 Avoid — January to March: heavy rain, empty lagoons, flooded trails. November to December: lagoons nearly dry, intense heat, less impressive landscape.
Comment commencer
Express tip: For the 3-day itinerary, take the 6am bus or 7am van on day one — arrival in Barreirinhas around 10-11am, time for the lagoon tour in the afternoon.
What to pack: SPF 50+ sunscreen, hat, insect repellent, sandals that handle sand and water, light clothing, flashlight (Atins has no street lighting). Cash is essential — Atins has no ATMs and very few card terminals.
