Taíba has a dual personality: the Lagoa do Kite (tide-independent, sandy bottom, shallow, venue of the GKA Freestyle World Championship 2025) coexists with the open ocean at Praia de Taibinha (waves up to 3m, venue of Surf Brasil Pro 2026). Carmel Taíba Exclusive Resort (5-star, Travellers' Choice 2024) and Saline Taíba define a new luxury standard for a village that still has pousadas for R$180/night.

Practical intel
There are no ATMs in Taíba — withdraw in Cumbuco or São Gonçalo do Amarante before arriving. The Lagoa do Kite is ~4 km from the village center (5 min by car or buggy). The Taíba to Paracuru downwinder (10–22 km) has a CRITICAL WARNING: submerged reefs near Quebra Mar at low tide — never attempt it for the first time without a local guide.
