The Rota das Emoções coast at sunset
Made by people who live the Route

From the Costa do Sol Poente to the Lençóis Maranhenses, by way of Jericoacoara — planned with people who live here.

Everything we know about the corridor — villages, transfers, tides, winds and itineraries — open and free. Not a tour-operator brochure.

Corridor map

One corridor, 28 villages, 3 states

From São Luís to the kite coast — Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará. The map shows the route's real scale and where we already have coverage to sort out your trip.

Villages

Start with one village

Every village has a geographic profile in /vilas and a full editorial guide in /destinos — we keep both.

Parnaíba

Delta do Parnaíba

The port town of the Parnaíba Delta, the only open-sea delta in the Americas. Base for speedboat tours through the islands and the scarlet-ibis flocks at dusk.

When to go

Every region has its own best season

The Route has no single "high season" — it depends on what you want to see. The windows we actually recommend:

Lençóis

Full lagoons — peak water and crossings on foot.

Jul – Sep

Insider: from Apr to May the lagoons already fill with far fewer people.

Kite / wind

Steady wind in Atins, Preá and Jeri — flat water all day.

Aug – Jan

Wind is strongest from Sep–Nov.

Delta

Dry season and the scarlet-ibis flight at dusk.

Jun – Dec

Tours are good year-round; the ibis flight is most intense in the dry winter.

Atins

Lagoons + kite together — the best of both worlds.

Jun – Aug

Only here for kite? Stretch it to Nov with lower lagoons.

Guidance dates, checked in the field — they don't depend on guaranteed sun every day. See the full practical guide

Take the guide in your pocket

Maps, contacts and tides — works offline, deep in the dunes, no signal.

Frequently asked

Before you ask

Is the guide really free?

It is. All the content — villages, transfers, tides, winds, itineraries — is open and genuinely up to date. We only make money when you ask the Ponte to handle your trip.

What is the Ponte and how much does it cost?

It's us organizing your trip (transfers, stays, tours) for a transparent fee — brokerage, not markup. You see what you pay. Today we cover Atins; for the rest we talk on WhatsApp.

Do you cover the whole route?

Not yet. The Ponte starts in Atins (1 of 28 villages) and grows along the corridor. Where we don't cover, the guide stays complete and we still talk with you.

Do I need to download the app?

No. The website is the complete guide. The app is a bonus for offline use out in the dunes.
