What to know before you go

Practical intel

The spot is in Itarema municipality — do not confuse with Guajiru in Trairi (a different municipality, ~100 km to the southeast). Schools Loopingkite and Guajiru Kite Center (both ABK) operate directly on the lagoon. Arrive before noon for the most stable wind; afternoons can get gusty. There is no ATM in the village — withdraw in Itarema before arriving.

About Ilha do Guajiru

Ilha do Guajiru has one of the largest lagoons in NE Brazil — over 4 km long and 400 m wide, entirely shallow — creating an infinite playground for freestyle and progression where you walk hundreds of meters over submerged sandbars with knee-deep water. The bed-to-board model with dozens of pousadas on the lagoon edge is the most developed on the corridor.
