The ferry runs from dawn until 6 PM — do not miss the last crossing or you will have to go back to Camocim. The river flat water is perfect for beginners and freestyle, but access is via sand track. Bring cash and stock up on food in Jeri or Camocim.
Guriú is where the river meets the sea, creating a cinematic dry mangrove landscape. The ferry crossing over the Guriú River is the gateway to Jericoacoara for those coming from Camocim — a rite of passage marking the transition from asphalt to sand.
